Electric filters for air purification

Suspended particles settle under the action of an electric current, first acquiring a charge under the action of a high voltage field (25-100 kV) of the corona electrodes, and then gathering on the collecting electrodes in the high voltage field of the rectified current. Particles are removed by shaking the electrodes.

Filters are used for cleaning from dry aerosols. Along with electric ones, fabric (cotton, wool), fibrous (fiberglass), granular (ceramics, plastic) filters are often used.

The degree of purification is high (90%).

As a result, a large volume of solid multi-component (usually) waste is generated.
