Suspended particles settle by gravity while the gas slowly moves through the dust chamber (without changing the flow). As a rule, chambers are quite large (for example, flexible corrugated suction hoses), since the smaller the particles, the faster and easier they overcome long distances. Gravitational settling is used for coarse cleaning of large particles (diameter more than 100 microns). The degree of purification is 40-50%. As a result, a large volume of solid multi-component (usually) waste is formed.
